The 13th match of IPL 2026 between Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians was played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The match between the two teams was to start at the pre-determined time of 7:30 pm. But due to heavy rain in Guwahati, the match started at 10:10 pm. The umpires reduced the overs to 11-11 overs. The powerplay was of 3.2 overs.
Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bowl. On the ground of Guwahati where it was raining for some time, the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit sixes and fours as soon as they entered the crease. Rajasthan Royals scored 150 runs at the loss of three wickets in 11 overs.
Half of the Mumbai Indians team, which was chasing the target of 151 runs against Rajasthan, returned to the pavilion in just 5 overs. Rajasthan achieved its third consecutive win in this IPL season by defeating Mumbai by 27 runs. This is the second consecutive defeat for Mumbai Indians. Rajasthan has reached the top of the points table with six points.
Mumbai’s stalwarts flopped
Mumbai got its first blow on the score of 10 runs. Ryan Rickleton had to return after scoring 8 runs in 4 balls. Before the team could recover, the second blow came in the form of Suryakumar Yadav on the score of 20. Surya ended his innings by hitting just one six. Tilak Verma also did not live up to the expectations of the team today. He faced 10 balls and contributed 14 runs. Captain Hardik Pandya’s flop show continued in IPL also. Could score only 9 runs.
Sherfane Rutherford and Naman Dheer tried to keep the team’s hopes alive. The highest partnership for Mumbai between the two was 47 runs in 17 balls. Rutherford played an innings of 25 runs in eight balls with the help of two sixes and two fours. Naman Dhir also scored 25 runs in 13 balls. Apart from this partnership, the second biggest partnership from Mumbai was just 19 runs.
Shardul Thakur contributed 8 runs, Deepak Chahar contributed 6 runs, Trent Boult contributed 1 run and Jasprit Bumrah contributed 5 runs. Against Rajasthan’s target of 151 runs, Mumbai could score only 123-9 runs in 11 overs.
Rajasthan bowling: Jofra Archer took the wicket of Ryan Rickleton. Nandre Berger dismissed Suryakumar Yadav in the fourth ball of the second over. After this, Rajasthan bowlers did not give Mumbai a chance to recover. Sandeep Sharma gave out LBW to Rohit Sharma in 2.3 overs. Ravi Bishnoi bowled brilliantly against Mumbai. First he made captain Hardik Pandya his victim and later Tilak Verma was also dismissed and sent to the pavilion.

Yashasvi and Vaibhav made a great start
Yashasvi Jaiswal: Opening batting Yashasvi Jaiswal batted brilliantly. He scored the 17th half-century of his IPL career in 23 balls. Jaiswal faced a total of 32 balls. Played a brilliant inning of 77 unbeaten runs with the help of 10 fours and four sixes.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi: On one side Jaiswal was holding the front and on the other side Vaibhav Suryavanshi was holding the front. Suryavanshi faced only 14 balls. Played an excellent inning of 39 with the help of 5 sixes and one four.
Riyan Parag: Captain Riyan Parag contributed 20 runs in 10 balls. Hit 2 sixes and one four in his innings. Shimron Hetmyer did not look in good form today. Despite the team getting a great start, their innings were very ordinary. Faced 7 balls and contributed six runs to the team’s score. Dhruv Jurel had to return to the pavilion after scoring two runs in 3 balls.
Sharing: There was a partnership of 80 runs between Vaibhav and Jaiswal for the first wicket. On the score of 84 runs, Rajasthan Royals got the second blow in the form of Dhruv Jurel. With the score of 121, captain Riyan Parag had to go to the pavilion. There was a partnership of 37 runs in 19 balls between Jaiswal and Riyan Parag. Later, Jaiswal made an important partnership of 29 runs in 13 balls with Hetmyer.
First wicket: Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s wicket fell on the score of 80 runs.
Second wicket: Dhruv Jurel had to return on the score of 84.
Third wicket: Captain Ryan’s wicket fell on the score of 121.
Mumbai bowling: Mumbai Indians’ bowling of Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult proved to be very expensive. Both bowled one over each and gave 22-22 runs. Jasprit Bumrah gave 32 runs in three overs of bowling, but did not get any success. Hardik Pandya gave 17 runs in 2 overs. Shardul Thakur got a success. He gave 36 runs in 2 overs.
