Noida's FY27 budget has crossed the Rs 10,000 crore mark, making it India's eighth largest urban local body in terms of budget size. The special thing is that in the current financial year, the budget of Noida is more than 5 times that of Gurugram. Whereas almost double as compared to Kolkata.

If we talk about Noida only, the city's expenditure has more than doubled in the last eight years. It has increased from Rs 4,350 crore in FY19 to Rs 10,291 crore in FY27. For the first time, Noida's budget was more than Rs 10 thousand crore in the financial year 2010. At that time the budget of Noida was around Rs 11 thousand crores.

Statistics show that Noida's budget has increased rapidly in recent years. After remaining in the range of Rs 4,000-5,000 crore between FY19 and FY23, the expenditure increased sharply to Rs 6,920 crore in FY24. Compared to other big cities, Noida is one of the fastest growing cities in terms of budget expansion, although its finances are managed by the Noida Authority rather than the Municipal Corporation. The budget of Mumbai's Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) increased three times from Rs 27,258 crore in FY19 to Rs 80,953 crore in FY27. Pune Municipal Corporation came second with a growth of 167 per cent, while Ahmedabad (165 per cent) and Bengaluru (117 per cent) also recorded strong growth.
