The letter indicated that the case relates to allegations from a victim claiming that several handles published posts with malicious intent to defame them and damage their reputation in society. A police officer from the IP Estate police station declined to provide further details, stating that the complaint was made by the department. A media outlet has sent a detailed questionnaire to the FSSAI chairman regarding the FIR and the allegations surrounding the recruitment of officials, promising to update once a response is received.

The FIR has had a significant impact on some individuals. Nalini Unagar mentioned on April 2 that the Delhi Police has filed an FIR against her after she wrote about an issue concerning the FSSAI. She stated that she has removed that post and is deleting several others as well, citing that she is already dealing with a lot in her life.
