Dharamshala News: Aghanjar Mahadev Temple situated in the lap of Devbhoomi Himachal is in discussion these days. Actually, IIT Baba Abhay Singh, who became famous from Prayagraj Mahakumbh, got married to engineer Pratika here. The story of this temple is centuries old. According to beliefs, this is the same place where during the Mahabharata period, Arjun performed severe penance for Bholenath on the instructions of Lord Krishna.

According to folklore, at this holy place of Khaniyara village, Lord Shiva was pleased and gave 'Pashupat Astra' to Arjun, which paved the way for victory in the war of Mahabharata. It is said that Lord Shiva himself used this route while going to Kailash.

The most mysterious and attractive feature of Aghanjar Mahadev Temple is the unbroken Dhuna here. This Dhuna established by Baba Ganga Bharti has been burning continuously for the last 500 years. The surprising thing is that no one saw it burning or extinguishing. Wood is simply thrown into it from time to time. Here devotees consider themselves blessed after visiting the Samadhi of Baba Ganga Bharti and her 500 years old throne.

IIT studies, path of spirituality and now family life

Near this place of divine energy, Abhay Singh, popularly known as IIT Baba, has started his new innings. Abhay Singh, a resident of Jhajjar, Haryana and who has done aerospace engineering from IIT Bombay, married engineer Pratika from Karnataka under the Special Marriage Act in Dharamshala SDM Court.

Abhay Singh, who made a name for himself with his spiritual practice in Prayagraj Mahakumbh, said that he is so impressed by the divine energy of Kangra that he will establish his center (ashram) near Aghanjar Mahadev. He clarified that he will continue his spiritual path for the welfare of the world along with family responsibilities.
