Cricket Gully | April 6, 2026 9:39 PM CST

So far, the 2026 PSL has begun exceptionally well for Karachi Kings. They have played three games so far and won all three of them. Captain David Warner has certainly brought a balanced look to his team in all departments and they look like they've set their own tempo early in the tournament.

Their campaign began with a solid performance against the Quetta Gladiators. They then found themselves in a tricky position with a low scoring chasing effort against Lahore Qalandars where after being put in to bat Lahore could only manage 128/9 but the Kings managed to chase it down with a wicket in hand thanks to an invaluable performance by Muhammad Waseem at a score of 129/9 and then they put their best foot forward in their most recent game against Rawalpindi where after putting their opposition to bat they set them a score of 197/6. They ended up chasing this score of 198/5 with relative ease.

Warner, Zampa, Azam Khan and Hasan Ali take short break

Ahead of their next fixture, Karachi Kings have decided to hand a short break to some of their key personnel. David Warner, Zampa, Azam Khan and Hasan Ali have all taken a temporary break from their squad for personal reasons.

Warner's break is to spend time with his family and to get rest before what has been an arduous period. Zampa is on a short vacation, whereas Hasan Ali is with family for a family function. These breaks are expected to be short and all players will make their returns for the next match:

At present Karachi Kings sit at the top of the 2026 PSL standings with six points and three games to their name. The Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans are two points behind on four points respectively.

Individually, Azam Khan and David Warner are both up at the top of the run-scorers list with 102 runs and 93 runs respectively. With the ball, Hasan Ali is the stand out performer and he currently stands top with eight wickets.

Karachi will want to hold onto their performance levels, and will have their key personnel back soon to make a run at the title.
