Delhi. Traffic is expected to be affected in central Delhi on April 8 in view of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the national capital. Police gave this information.
According to the advisory issued by Delhi Traffic Police, traffic jams are expected on major routes around the stadium from 12 noon to midnight as the match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans is scheduled between 7 pm and 10.30 pm.
The advisory said that depending on the traffic situation, traffic on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and JLN Marg may be diverted and vehicular movement may be limited.
It said movement of heavy and commercial vehicles will be restricted on these corridors, including the stretches from Daryaganj to Delhi Gate, Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk and ITO to Delhi Gate.
It said people have been advised to avoid JLN Marg (from Rajghat to Delhi Gate), Asaf Ali Road (from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate) and Bahadurshah Zafar Marg (from Delhi Gate to ITO).
