CSK to finally get some boost in IPL 2026 as MS Dhoni’s comeback dates being discussed. However, his comeback still relies on one crucial factor: his fitness.

Dhoni has so far missed the first three matches of the IPL 2026 season as he was suffering from calf strain. As evident from the performance of the Super Kings so far, they have looked like struggling without their experienced captain, as they lie at the bottom of the IPL 2026 points table and under captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, the team has not looked all that powerful so far.

Adding to the CSK’s problems, injuries to Dewald Brevis has given the team an even harder time. Even though the team have tried out young players, they haven’t made any big impact. Dhoni's experience and calm presence at the middle order has been really missed in the CSK camp.

Sources state that MS Dhoni is likely to have a fitness test soon, and if he clears it, the legendary MS Dhoni will be returning to CSK squad during their next game against the Delhi Capitals.

This game will take place on the 11th April at MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. The CSK has got 5 days of gap before the next game which will give Dhoni some time to recover to his fullest and come back stronger than before. If the former captain is deemed fit to play, it would be an immense boost for CSK as his batting and leadership abilities at the middle order as well as keeping would improve the CSK’s overall strength and could guide Ruturaj Gaikwad at difficult situations.

The poor form shown by the CSK so far has raised serious concern about their future. They still haven't managed to find a solid batting line up. With Sarfaraz Khan having been consistent throughout the matches so far, the other batters are not making a lot of impact. Both Shivam Dube and Ayush Mhatre have failed to get them much runs.

With MS Dhoni unavailable, the team has been found missing both the confidence and match awareness that comes with his presence on field. With big matches approaching, the CSK will surely want their former captain back in the playing 11 as the key that can get them going once again. However, everyone awaits MS Dhoni's fitness test results and a victory over Delhi Capitals, hopefully with MSD back in the squad, will surely get their season back on track for IPL 2026.
