Cuttack: Odisha’s Ranji Trophy team member Sambit Baral has been selected to participate in the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) High-Performance Camp for Emerging U-25 Men.
The camp will be conducted at Bengaluru’s BCCI Centre of Excellence from April 12 to May 7.
The 23-year-old Sambit made his debut for Odisha in all three formats – first-class (Ranji), List A (50 overs) and T20 — in the just-concluded 2025-26 season.
A right-arm medium pacer, Sambit is a handy left-handed batter as well.
He bagged 15 wickets six Ranji matches, and hit his maiden first-class 50 in the clash against Railways. In the 50-overs-a-side Vijay Hazare Trophy, Sambit captured 9 wickets in seven games and also hit a half-century.
The Puri-born cricketer caught the state selectors’ attention after making a mark in the inaugural Odisha Pro T20 League last September, playing for Rourkela Steelers.
