However, it is to be noted that, it is not the first time that such chants are heard around Virat Kohli's name. It was the ODI World Cup 2023, where the chants became famous during the India vs Bangladesh match when the Indian batter completed one over after the all-rounder Hardik Pandya got injured.

RCB set a mammoth total with the late fireworks

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru batting first dominated the proceedings right from the start and set a daunting 250/3 in their allotted 20 overs. Devdutt Padikkal was on fire from the start and was at his usual best as he played a knock of 50 off 29 deliveries. This was also the consecutive fifty for the batter this season.

Following Padikkal's early exit, it was the combined might of Rajat Patidar and Tim David that took over. Patidar ended up remaining unbeaten on 48 off 19 deliveries, whereas Tim David went on a rampage and smashed an unbeaten 70 off 25 deliveries to guide RCB towards the mammoth score.

Both batters put on an unbeaten 99-run partnership for the fourth wicket off just 35 deliveries and wreaked havoc all around the ground. David took over in the death overs and clobbered four sixes on a row against the Chennai bowlers as he smashed his fifty off just 21 deliveries.

RCB went on to score 97 runs in the last five overs.

CSK lose the way despite a few fightbacks

The Yellow Army failed to keep up with the required run rate, chasing a mammoth 251. Sarfaraz Khan continued his aggressive batting and played a cameo of 50 off 24 deliveries, and Prashant Veer continued to play well and scored 43 off 32 deliveries, but the remaining batting lineup failed to offer them the support that they needed and lost their captain Ruturaj Gaikwad early in the innings and thus put under pressure.

Although the Chennai batters tried to get back in the game in the middle overs. Jamie Overton tried to score quick runs in the final over but was too little. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who took the most wickets, completed 200 IPL wickets in this game.

CSK got bundled out for 207 runs off 19.4 overs, losing the game by 43 runs. The Royal Challengers Banglore are now at the top of the points table with 4 consecutive wins over CSK in IPL.
