Anubhav Sinha’s Assi dissects the harsh reality of a trauma survivor who has to undergo a long and perilous journey to ensure that justice is served. The film follows a teacher (Kani Kusruti) who becomes victim of a gang-rape. What follows is an arduous legal battle against the rapists that adds to her trauma. Taapsee essays the role of Raavi, the victim’s lawyer who refuses to back down even after major setbacks. The film goes beyond courtroom arguments.

• ‘Tu Yaa Main’ (April 10, Netflix)

Starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor, this love story-cum-survival thriller is directed by Bejoy Nambiar. The film is based on a story by Himanshu Sharma. It follows two social media influencers from different backgrounds, who fall for each other.

3. ‘Mamla Legal Hai’ season 2 (April 3, Netflix)

The hilarious courtroom drama is back with a second season. Ravi Kishan reprises his role of a flawed lawyer, VD Tyagi, who is now eyeing a judge’s chair. With bizarre cases coming every day in Patparganj District Court, the Netflix series promises more chaos and comedy in its next chapter.

4. ‘O’Romeo’ (April 10, Prime Video)

Starring Shahid Kapoor, Tripti Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal and Randeep Hooda, Vishal Bhadrwaj’s dark romance saga O’Romeo is slated for a Valentine’s Day 2026 release. It is touted to be an intense revenge romance drama inspired by true events.

5. ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’ (April 17, Netflix)

Directed by Ravi Udyawar, Do Deewane Seher Mein follows two socially awkward millennials in Mumbai who find love while struggling with self-acceptance. 7. ‘Euphoria’ season 3 (April 12, JioHotstar)

8. ‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’ (April 23, Netflix)

Stranger Things: Tales from '85 is an animated sci-fi series and a spin-off of The Duffer Brothers’ Stranger Things. The series takes place between the second and third seasons of Stranger Things. 9. ‘XO, Kitty’ Season 3 (April 2, Netflix)

Vadh 2, a spiritual sequel to the 2022 film Vadh, has Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta in fresh roles in a morally complicated story that explores new psychologically gritty avenues. While the original focused on a retired teacher who kills a loan shark, Vadh 2 promises the same realism with new characters who face grave ethical dilemmas.
