The Cotton Broderie Tiered Smock Dress is available in four shades including black and khaki for £40 each, aqua on sale for £35, and pink which is reduced to £28 (was £40).

While the latter reduced styles are currently sold out in some sizes (UK 10-14) there are still sizes 16-20 still available. Both the full price £40 khaki and black colourways are in stock in all sizes, and it's often worth shoppers checking the banner on the Roman website before purchasing as the retailer regularly offers a discount code on full price items.

The dress, which features a stylish relaxed smock shape, comes in a knee length fit with three-quarter length sleeves. Wearers will also be able to show off the boho-style tie tassel detail and pretty frilled hemline.

Made from a breathable cotton material that's ideal for staying cool during the warmer months ahead, the dress can be teamed with all manner of shoe options, from sandals and boots through to trainers for errand running. Easy to dress up or down, the frock is already proving a hit with Roman's customers.

Elsewhere, Marks and Spencer is offering its Pure Cotton Broderie Midi Smock Dress for £60. Featuring a pretty colour and a comfy loose fit, it would be perfect for every day wear. Over at Next, and the £49 Broderie 2-in-1 Sleeveless Dress can be shopped in staple white or chic navy shades.

Back to Roman, and shoppers have left high praise for the Cotton Broderie Tiered Smock Dress. One who reviewed the black design commented: "Lovely! Fits true to size. Quality Amazing. Cut is perfect."

Meanwhile another enthused: "Really lovely dress, bought as a last minute extra dress for a long trip and wore it over and over again, never bought from Roman before but just ordered another couple of dresses on the strength of this purchase."

A third who reviewed the khaki option wrote: "It's beautiful on and so comfortable, it's amazing and smart - so many people commented on it."

Shoppers may wish to note that one reviewer deducted a star forthe khaki design, writing: "Nice style dress, looks nice with the ties left loose, however doesn't sit right on the neck if tied. Nice shade of Khaki. I would prefer a few inches longer though as at 5'1 it sits on my knees."

Despite this, another raved: "I'm a dress size 14 and fits true to size. Nice and roomy for those warm sunny days."
