Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a final 48-hour ultimatum to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and enter into a peace agreement with the United States.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump warned of a "rain of bombs" and "hell" falling upon Iran if the strategic waterway is not opened within the next two days. This follows an earlier 10-day deadline issued on March 26, of which eight days have already passed, leaving only a 48-hour window before the Monday, April 6, deadline.
The President previously stated he would target Iran's power plants, oil infrastructure, and water desalination facilities if the blockade continues. This escalation comes amid ongoing conflict in the region, which has seen the closure of the Strait of Hormuz since late February, severely impacting global energy supplies.
