Within hours of launching into Earth orbit, Artemis II commander Reed Wiseman reported two incidents of Outlook not working on the shuttle’s personal computing devices (PCDs). According to the information received, the PCD device used by Wiseman was a Microsoft Surface Pro. The astronaut requested remote assistance from Mission Control in Houston on Earth. Reed Wiseman said, “I noticed that I have two Microsoft Outlooks and neither of them are working. So it would be great if you could connect remotely and check Optimus and both Outlooks.”

The entire incident went viral on social media. After that many social media users started sharing memes on this. A user shared a clip from the Netflix show Space Force, in which a computer in mission control automatically starts Windows Updates and stops the mission in space. Another user wrote, Microsoft’s products are so bad that they have made the scene in Space Force come true. Another person said that NASA should not have trusted the outlook for such an important mission. Using Outlook in space is weird. Pigeons in spacesuits would be more believable.
