New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has officially released a notification stating that no Special Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted for NEET-PG 2025 admissions. The decision was communicated through a notification issued by the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB).
According to the notice, the matter has been resolved after the Supreme Court of India dismissed related petitions. The court allowed representations to be made to the Central Government, but the competent authority did not approve them.
The commission has reiterated that the final deadline for NEET-PG 2025 admissions is February 28, 2026. Any admissions granted after this date will be considered invalid and unauthorized.

The Supreme Court previously ratified the counselling schedule for postgraduate medical seats in the case of Ashish Ranjan vs. Union of India and Others. As per the ruling, all admissions must strictly adhere to the timeline set by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
