LPG Cylinder price from 1st April: Amid the war between Iran-Israel and the US, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stressed that speculations about a nationwide lockdown are completely baseless. India is fully prepared

The government has also said that despite the current global situation, there is no shortage of fuel or essential goods in the country. According to the ministry, India has ample reserves of oil and gas and supplies for the next 60 days have already been secured. Additionally, India now imports crude oil from more than 41 countries, thereby reducing the impact of any blockage in the Strait of Hormuz to a great extent. However, despite this assurance from the government, there are long queues in front of gas agencies due to panic buying.

Oil companies also increased preparations

Here, oil companies have also increased their preparations. Petrol pump owners are now getting more credit than before to ensure that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel under any circumstances. The government says that India is also an exporter of petroleum products, so there is no need for any ‘national energy emergency’ at this time. Now the biggest question is whether the prices of LPG cylinders are going to increase from April 1 or there will be some relief in the prices?

Looking at the current situation, there is very little hope for relief. Crude oil and gas prices remain high due to the Iran-Israel war. Fuel prices have already increased in many countries of the world, so it should not be surprising if LPG consumers face a shock on April 1, 2026.

Possibility of change in prices

Oil marketing companies (OMCs) review gas prices on the 1st of every month. Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East and the global oil crisis, the prices of crude oil and gas remain on the rise. In such a situation, there is a possibility of price increase from April 1.

Domestic cylinder prices saw an increase of Rs 60 in March 2026. Now its price is around Rs 853. At the same time, in March, the price of commercial cylinder has reached Rs 1768.50 in Delhi. Whether there will be relief next month or prices will increase will depend on the situation in the international energy market. Along with LPG, there is a possibility of change in the prices of CNG and PNG from April 1.
