A feature WhatsApp users have been waiting for years could be rolling out very soon. The company is now officially working on a long-requested Message Schedule feature. WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp development, recently reported that this feature will automatically send text messages at a set time. This development was first spotted in the latest iOS beta update (version 26.7.10.72) released through the TestFlight program.
The company's goal behind introducing this feature is to increase user control over communication, ensuring that important updates or personal greetings are not missed. This means that sometimes wishing someone on a birthday or wedding anniversary requires staying up until midnight, but not anymore. With this feature, you won't need to stay up until 12 a.m. You'll be able to write and schedule your message so that it will be sent at the designated time and received by the receiver.
WhatsApp Schedule Message Feature: How the feature will work
According to a WABetaInfo report, users will be able to type a message and then select the appropriate time and date for delivery. Scheduled messages can be viewed and managed in a dedicated section within the Chat Info screen. Users will also be able to delete any scheduled message before sending it, preventing the receiver from receiving a notification. It's expected that this feature will work in both individual chats and groups. This feature, rolled out for the beta version, may be rolled out soon with a stable update.
WhatsApp Feature: Latest Feature
WhatsApp recently rolled out Group Message History. This allows admins to share 25 to 100 old group chats with new members, allowing new users to view past group conversations.
