Bank Holidays List in September 2025: Like every month, there will be some holidays in banks in September 2025 as well. In such a situation, if you have any important work related to the bank, then you should plan; otherwise, there may be trouble at the last moment. According to the official list of bank holidays of September 2025 of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will not work for a total of 15 days, including festivals, state-level occasions, and weekend holidays.

According to RBI rules, holidays are not the same in all banks. Holidays are fixed in every state based on local festivals and regional events. This means that banks that are open in one state may also be closed in another state. Therefore, it is important that you go to the bank only after looking at the list of holidays in your state.

Banks will remain closed on weekends and festivals.

Banks will remain closed every Sunday in September and on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. The first Sunday of this month will fall on 7 September. After this, banks will remain closed for two consecutive days on September 13, the second Saturday, and September 14, Sunday. Similarly, there will be a bank holiday again on September 27 (fourth Saturday) and September 28 (Sunday).

Many big festivals like Onam, Eid-e-Milad, Navratri Sthapana, and Durga Puja will be celebrated in September 2025. Banks will remain closed in various states on these occasions. Here you can check the bank holiday list for September:

Digital Services will remain operational.
Although bank branches will remain closed during these holidays, digital services like net banking, mobile banking, UPI, and ATM will continue to function normally. But if you are planning to do offline work like check clearing, draft deposit, or branch visit, then complete them before the holidays.
