The company said that these 9.7 million accounts in India could be banned due to investments in AI-driven moderation and advanced reporting tools.

WhatsApp further said that according to IT Rules 2021, the company has taken action against most of those accounts, which were reported by the users themselves. The company also said that WhatsApp has an automated detection system that detects suspicious activities.
Most of the complaints received by WhatsApp are related to spamming and third-party apps. Apart from this, people have also reported some cases in that they are added to various groups without their permission. WhatsApp has investigated all these complaints and banned the accounts doing such wrong things.
