State-run Bank of India Ltd on Wednesday (March 26) said it has classified a non-performing asset (NPA) linked to Rolta India Ltd, amounting to ₹616.30 crore, as fraud.
The bank has reported the matter to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as per regulatory requirements under SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, and its internal disclosure policies.
Separately, the bank’s IBU Gift City Branch has executed a JPY 15 billion (approximately $100 million) facility agreement for borrowing. The funds, expected on March 27, 2025, will be utilised for on-lending and other general corporate purposes at its overseas branches.
Bank of India's net profit rose 35% year-on-year to ₹2,517 crore, compared to ₹1,870 crore in Q3 FY24. On a sequential basis, the bank's net profit saw a 6% increase from ₹2,374 crore in Q2 FY25. Operating profit also showed a solid 23% YoY growth, reaching ₹3,703 crore, though it was lower than the ₹4,147 crore reported in Q2 FY25.
Net Interest Income (NII) for the quarter grew 11% YoY to ₹6,070 crore, compared to ₹5,463 crore in Q3 FY24, and was slightly higher than ₹5,986 crore in the previous quarter. NII surged 46% YoY to ₹1,746 crore, though it was lower than ₹2,518 crore in Q2 FY25.
Operating expenses for Q3 FY25 stood at ₹4,114 crore, up from ₹3,653 crore in Q3 FY24, but down sequentially from ₹4,355 crore in Q2 FY25. The bank’s Net Interest Margin (NIM) stood at 2.80%, slightly down from 2.85% in Q3 FY24 but higher than the 2.82% reported in Q2 FY25.
