WhatsApp is working on two new artificial intelligence (AI) features for Android that can give users new ways to interact with the app. According to the report, the AI-powered "Rewrite" feature will be able to convert text into different styles. This feature will also proofread the message before it is sent. Apart from this, WhatsApp is also preparing a two-way live voice chat for Meta AI, which will allow users to get a hands-free experience from the chatbot.

AI-powered text rewrite feature

According to a report, WhatsApp is planning to bring a new AI-based text rewriting feature. It has been recently spotted in the APK teardown of WhatsApp Android version 2.25.8.5, although this feature is not yet available to general users. The report states that this feature will appear as a pencil icon above the "Send" button. When a user types a message in a chat or group, he will get the option to access the text editor by tapping on this pencil icon.

This feature will give users many different text rewriting options, including Funny, Proofread, Puns, Rephrase, Sarcastic, Shorter, Spooky, Supportive, etc. Of these, the Proofread option will automatically correct spelling and grammar mistakes, while other options will change the tone of the text.

Two-way voice chat for Meta AI

According to a report by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new voice chat feature in Meta AI. So far, users can only use features like chatting with the chatbot through text, getting information from the web, generating images, and sending voice messages, but two-way voice chat is not possible. Now a new "call-like" interface has appeared in the WhatsApp Beta Android 2.25.8.7 update, indicating that WhatsApp may soon add live voice chat with Meta AI.
