Bank strike will be two days in March, check date before leaving

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) said on Thursday that its two -day nationwide strike on March 24 and 25 will take place as per the predetermined schedule. The UFBU said that no positive result was found in the talks with the Indian Bank Union (IBA) on the major demands of the employee organization.

In the meeting with the IBA, UFBU members raised several issues including recruitment in all cadres and five -day work week. National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE) general secretary L Chandrashekhar said that despite the meeting, major issues are unresolved. UFBU, the integrated body of nine bank employees unions, had earlier announced the strike on these demands.

What issues arose in the conversation?

In the meeting held with IBA, all employees associated with UFBU raised many important demands, including all cadre recruitment and five-day work week. But no consensus could be reached on these main demands. National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE) General Secretary L.K. Chandrashekhar said that no concrete decision was taken on this issue.

Which demands are going on?

  • Empty posts should be filled in government banks: Immediate appointments should be made to the posts of employees and officers.
  • Performance Review and Incentive Scheme should be withdrawn: Unions say that the new guidelines issued by the Financial Services Department (DFS) are putting the security of the job in danger.
  • "Micro-management" banned in the functioning of banks: UFBU alleges that the autonomy of government bank boards is being affected.
  • Amendment to the Gratuity Act: The limit should be increased to ₹ 25 lakh, so that it is equal to the scheme of government employees and it will get exemption from income tax.
  • The rest of the pending issues related to IBA should be resolved.

Banks will be closed continuously for 4 days

According to the United Forum of Bank Unions, on March 24 and 25, 9 banks will be held across the country. At the same time, March 22 is the fourth Saturday and March 23 is Sunday, due to which the banks will be closed for 4 consecutive days. If you want to do any bank related work, then you should complete before 22 March.

Small and big businessmen also trouble with common people

The country is sure to suffer a major economic injury due to the shutdown of banks for four days. With this, the functioning of the common man along with the government will also be stuck. The four -day strike of banks will affect business activities in the country.

Every day traders, service providers, corporate houses, industries, small businessmen and other sector banks use banks. This will affect their banking functioning.

Transactions through NEFT will be stuck due to the closure of banks. Due to this, there is a possibility of big losses. Many important services including check clearance, ATM work will be stuck due to this strike.
