We are going to tell you five easy tips that will increase your security, ensure that your messages on WhatsApp remain safe and your privacy is maintained.
1. End-to-end encryption for backup
To keep your WhatsApp chats secure, it is important to turn on end-to-end encryption for backup. This encryption keeps your chats secure even when they are backed up to cloud storage. This will prevent anyone else from reading your sensitive data. To turn it on, go to WhatsApp Settings and then tap on Chats and Chat backup option. Here you will see the option of end-to-end encrypted backup. Turn it on and set a password for encryption.
2.Lock chats
If you have some private conversations that you want to keep even more secure, then WhatsApp's Chat Lock feature may be right for you. This feature allows you to lock specific chats so that no one else can access them without your permission. To turn it on, open the chat you want to lock. Then tap on the name at the top and scroll down the screen and tap on the Chat lock option.
3. Use Disappearing Messages
To prevent your personal conversations from being saved for a long time, use WhatsApp's Disappearing Messages option. After activating it, the messages will be automatically deleted after one, seven or ninety days. To enable it, open the chat and tap on the name given above and click on the Disappearing messages option. Then you choose the time.
4. Turn on two-step verification
Turn on two-step verification for WhatsApp for added security. This feature asks you to enter a six-digit PIN when you add your phone number on a new device. To turn it on, go to WhatsApp Settings, then Account and then click on the Two-step verificaiton option. Set a six-digit PIN here.
5. Use privacy controls
WhatsApp allows you to control who can see your personal details with its privacy settings. You can customize your profile photo, last seen status, read receipts, and status updates. To change these settings, open Settings in WhatsApp and tap Privacy. Here you can change settings like last seen, profile photo, status, and read receipts.
