New Delhi. If you are planning to settle any necessary work to banking in March, then first check the list of bank holidays. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of banks' holidays. This month, banks will have a total of 14 days holidays, including public holidays, holidays on regional festivals, second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays.

According to the calendar, banks will remain closed in many states of the country on major festivals like Holi and Ramadan. However, banking services in those states will be affected only in terms of state-specific holidays.

Let us know that RBI releases a list of bank holidays every month, which occurs in three categories-leave under the Non-Essential Instruments Act, Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holiday and bank account closing day.

Is the bank holiday today?

Today, on March 1, all government and private banks will be open, as this is the first Saturday of the month. Customers can go to their bank branches and handle the necessary work. Apart from this, facilities like ATM, mobile banking app and online banking for transactions will be available as usual.

In March 2025, banks will remain holidays due to many national and regional festivals. These holidays include festivals celebrated in different states besides weekly holidays.

March 2 (Sunday) – Weekly holiday

March 7 (Friday) – Chapchar Kut (bank closed in Mizoram)

March 8 (Second Saturday) – Weekly holiday

March 9 (Sunday) – Weekly holiday

March 13 (Thursday) – Holika Dahan and Atukal Pongala (bank closed in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Kerala)

March 14 (Friday) – Holi (Dhulati/Dhulandi/Dole Jatra) (Holidays in most states, but banks will be open in Tripura, Odisha, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Kerala and Nagaland)

March 15 (Saturday) – Holi in some states (banks closed in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Imphal and Patna)

March 16 (Sunday) – Weekly holiday

March 22 (Fourth Saturday) – Weekly Holiday and Bihar Day

March 23 (Sunday) – Weekly holiday

March 27 (Thursday)-Shab-e-Qadr (bank closed in Jammu)

March 28 (Friday)-Jumat-ul-Vida (bank closed in Jammu and Kashmir)

March 30 (Sunday) – Weekly holiday

March 31 (Monday)-Ramadan Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr) (Holidays in most states, but banks will be open in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh)

According to RBI rules, all banks will remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. In such a situation, customers are advised to handle their bank work in advance. However, despite the closure of the bank, digital services like online banking, UPI and mobile banking will be operational as before, due to which customers will not face any problem.
