This new feature of WhatsApp is completely based on on-device processing. This means that the voice message and its transcription will be completely private. According to WhatsApp, this entire process is done on the device locally and the company will not get any access to these messages or transcription.

In which languages ​​is this facility available?

Currently, this feature can convert voice messages of English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian language into text. However, official support for Hindi language is not yet, but in some cases, WhatsApp is also showing transcription of Hindi voice message. It is expected that soon this facility will be available for other Indian languages ​​including Hindi.

How to active the transcription feature?

• Go to Settings and choose the Chhats option.
• Scroll down and go to Voice Message Transcripts section.
• Enable this option and choose your favorite language.
• The setup process can be completed via Wi-Fi or mobile data.

How to convert voice messages into text?

• Long press the voice message that is needed.
• Go to More Options and select the Transgybe option.
