WhatsApp users are finally getting the ability to change the theme of their chat interface and it is not limited to the beta users anymore. The official update was rolled out earlier this month and will be available for all users over the coming weeks.

As the name suggests, the new feature shows you multiple theme colours that can be applied to the chat screen which will reflect when you chat with a friend or any other person.

You still have the dark theme available for the messaging app, which many WhatsApp users like but having more colours is just an exciting option for those who want more than the regular themes. WhatsApp says you can, urn your chat bubbles and background your favourite colours with plenty of options to choose from. Pick from one of our pre-set chat themes which change both your background and bubbles or mix and match colours to best fit your style."

Now that you know what the new chat theme offers, it is time to set them up for your WhatsApp account:

– Open WhatsApp on your phone

– Tap on the three-dot menu on the right

– Click on Settings and tap on Chats

– Tap on the Default chat theme

– Now you can select from themes, chat colours and even wallpaper for your account

– WhatsApp lets you preview the changes before you apply them

– You can even reset the theme any time by clicking on the three-dot menu from the  top right

WhatsApp is also building new AI tools, including a tab that will show you various third-party apps and tools in one dedicated space.
