Minister Nara Lokesh formally introduced WhatsApp administration in Andhra Pradesh in a historic step to improve citizen services. Minister Nara Lokesh said at the inauguration ceremony that residents would no longer need to make needless trips to government offices in order to get different government credentials and services.

In order to provide citizens with access to a variety of services, the state administration has made the WhatsApp number 9552300009 available. With the goal of offering 161 distinct services to the general public in the first phase, this project is the first of its type in the nation. Endowments, the Electricity Department, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (RTC), Revenue, Anna Canteen, CMRF, and Municipal Services are among the key departments that are participating.
“We are dedicated to making sure that people no longer have to spend time looking for their credentials by wandering around government offices. We are guaranteeing quicker public services with more accountability and transparency thanks to this creative WhatsApp governance method,” Minister Lokesh said.
The Chief Minister has ordered that forensic and cybersecurity measures be put in place to protect people’s data and keep it out of the hands of cybercriminals. Notably, on October 22, 2024, a contract was reached with Meta to provide public services via the well-known messaging app.
Generative artificial intelligence will be used by WhatsApp governance to improve service delivery speed and privacy. Residents may anticipate easy access to a range of services, such as the ability to reserve tickets for darshan, arrange lodging, and make donations to well-known temples run by the Endowment Department. State land records and vital certificates will be provided by the Revenue Department, while property tax payments, birth and death certificates, and trade permits will be managed by the Municipal Department.
To further streamline the procedure for the general public, people will now be able to use the WhatsApp payment system to pay for other services, including energy bills.
Citizens are urged to contact the authorized WhatsApp number, 9552300009, for more help and to access the services. The project by the Andhra Pradesh government is a big step in the direction of upgrading public services and using technology to improve citizen involvement.
