In January, apart from 4 Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays, banks are going to remain closed on the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh's birthday, Makar Sankranti, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's birth anniversary. Banks are also closed on the occasion of Republic Day i.e. 26 January, but this time 26 January falls on a Sunday, due to which banks will remain closed all over the country. January Bank Holidays 2025
On January 1, 2025, banks in Aizawl, Chennai, Gangtok, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Kolkata, and Shillong will remain closed on New Year's Day or Losong or Namsung. Banks will remain closed on January 2, 2025, in Aizawl, Gangtok to celebrate Losong/Namsung/New Year.
Banks will remain closed in Chandigarh on January 6, 2025 on the occasion of Shri Guru Gobind Singh's birthday.
Banks will remain closed on January 11 in Aizawl and Imphal on the occasion of Missionary Day/Imoinu Iratpa.
Banks will remain closed on January 14, 2025 in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Hyderabad (Telangana), Itanagar, Kanpur and Lucknow on the occasion of Makar Sankranti/Uttarayan Punyakaal/Pongal/Maghe Sankranti/Magh Bihu/Hazrat Ali's birthday.
Banks will remain closed on January 15, 2025 in Chennai on the occasion of Thiruvalluvar Day.
Banks will remain closed on January 16, 2025 in Chennai on the occasion of Uzhavar Thirunal.
Banks will remain closed on January 23, 2025 on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's birth anniversary and Veer Surendrasai Jayanti in Agartala, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata.
