Are the banks closed or open on Christmas?

If you also have to go to the bank for some work, then know that the banks will be closed on Christmas day. Due to Christmas, there is a public holiday in banks across the country. According to the list of holidays released by the Reserve Bank of India, banks will be closed on Christmas day.

Banks closed in many places from 24 to 26
While the banks of the country will remain closed on the occasion of Christmas, on the other hand, banks in some states will have holidays from 24 to 26 December. Banks will remain closed on 24, 25 and 26 December 2024 in Nagaland, Meghalaya and Mizoram due to Christmas. If you are a resident of these states, then your bank work will not be done on these days.

Apart from Christmas, banks will remain closed this month (December 2024). December 28 is the fourth Saturday of the month and December 29 is Sunday. Therefore, banks will remain closed on both these days

While, on December 30, banks will remain closed in Meghalaya due to U Kiang Nangbah Day
At the same time, banks will also remain closed in Mizoram and Sikkim on December 31 due to New Year's Eve, Losong and Namsong festivals.
