This translation will take place on the device itself without the need for an active internet connection due to security and privacy. Therefore, users will need to download a language pack to use the translate feature, which means that the translation will be accurate. This is important for privacy. WhatsApp will initially support English, Hindi, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, and Portuguese languages, but more languages ​​can be included later. However, there is no information from WhatsApp about when this translation feature will be introduced for everyone.

The company has previously announced a new calling feature for desktop and mobile users. To begin with, WhatsApp users can now select specific members from group chats for calls without disturbing all the group members. Apart from this, 10 effects can also be selected for video calls.
