Axis Bank has revised its SMS alert charges, and customers will now be charged 25 paise per SMS or a maximum of ₹15 per quarter starting December 15, 2024. While many assume bank SMS alerts are free, they are actually a paid service providing updates on transactions like check clearance, debit, and credit payments.

Who Is Affected?

Not all customers will be charged. Premium account holders, bank staff, salary account holders, pension account holders, and those with small or basic accounts are exempt. Additionally, no charges will apply for receiving OTPs or other critical messages.
