Those who want to update their Aadhaar details without spending money, now have got more time. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has once again extended the deadline for free updates till 14 December 2024.
Earlier, the facility of updating for free was to end on 14 June. But later it was extended to 14 September.
Service on 'My Aadhaar' portal
This is the second time that UIDAI has extended the deadline for the service. This service is available through the official 'My Aadhaar' portal. Under this, users can update their details like name and home address for free.
Once the deadline is passed, users have to pay processing charges for any such update on Aadhaar. Once the deadline is passed, users have to pay processing charges to update any details on Aadhaar.
Follow these steps
Let us now tell you how you can update Aadhaar online from home.
First of all, go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
After this, log in with Aadhaar number and a one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.
Then fill in the details you want to update and upload the supporting documents.
Now click on submit and track it with the help of the Update Request Number (URN).
One should keep in mind that any biometric updates like fingerprint and iris scan can be done by visiting the nearest Aadhaar center.
