With the celebration of Chhath Puja, banks will remain closed for four consecutive days in some states. This includes holidays for both the Chhath festival and the second Saturday of November.

Bank Holidays from November 7 to November 10, 2024:

  • November 7 (Thursday): Bank holiday in Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, and West Bengal for Chhath Puja.
  • November 8 (Friday): Bank holiday in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya for Chhath Puja.
  • November 9 (Saturday): Second Saturday holiday for all banks nationwide.
  • November 10 (Sunday): Weekly holiday for all banks.

Why This Happens:

Chhath Puja, a significant festival mainly in Bihar, Jharkhand, and parts of West Bengal, will be celebrated starting from November 5 with Nahai-Khai. Devotees will fast for 36 hours and conclude the fast with morning prayers on November 7, which leads to the bank holidays.

What to Remember:

  • Digital banking services, including internet and mobile banking, will remain operational during the holidays.
  • Bank branches will be closed for four consecutive days, so plan any essential banking work accordingly.

Make sure to complete any urgent banking tasks before or after these holidays!
