WhatsApp Custom Chat Lists have been rolled out for groups and chats. Now users can create a separate chat list of their favorite contacts.
WhatsApp introduced the Chat Filters feature earlier this year. After this, users can find the chat list easily and quickly with the help of many filters. Now Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has announced a new custom list filter. With this help, users will now be able to filter chats through custom lists. They can create separate chat lists for their close friends, family, and office. Let's know about the feature in detail.
According to WhatsApp's blog post, with Lists you can now filter chats by creating a list of your favorite contacts. You can easily create and edit your list by tapping the + icon in the filter bar at the top of your chat tab. To edit any list, you have to long press it for a long time.
Like your Favorites, you can add both group and one-on-one chats to the list. Not only this, any list you create will appear in the filter bar. This feature has started rolling out to users. This feature will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
How will you be able to create a list?
I have tried using this feature on my iPhone.
After opening WhatsApp, you will see a + icon at the last in the filters list at the top of the Chat List.
Click on it. After this, you have to name the list. Like you can keep family, friends or office.
Then click on the Add People or Groups option coming below.
Now select the contacts you want to include in the list.
Then click on the Add icon on the right side of the screen.
Now click on Done.
As soon as you do this, you will see a Family list near the filters.
Now you will be able to easily access the chats of all the members of your family by clicking on this option.
After long pressing on it, you will get the option of Edit and Delete list.
