LPG Gas Subsidy: The government has issued a new guideline regarding LPG gas subsidy. Under this rule, now all consumers will not get subsidy.
LPG Gas Subsidy New Update: The Government of India has made significant changes in the rules of LPG gas subsidy, which will affect millions of consumers. Now not all LPG consumers will get the benefit of gas subsidy. This facility will be given only to those special category of people who really need it. Under this new rule, the government has limited LPG subsidy only to the low and middle income group people, who are economically weak and whose income is less than a prescribed limit.
According to the new rule, people whose annual income is more than Rs 10 lakh have been excluded from LPG subsidy. Apart from this, people who pay income tax will also not get the benefit of this facility. Apart from this, government employees, pensioners and people who have more than one LPG connection will also not be given subsidy. The government believes that this step will help in providing the benefit of subsidy only to those who really need it.
Why is e-KYC process necessary?
The government has also clarified that e-KYC process has been made mandatory for getting subsidy. Its purpose is that only the right consumer gets the subsidy and no one can take advantage of it in the wrong way. Under the e-KYC process, consumers will have to update the information related to their Aadhar card, bank account and LPG connection on the government portal. Consumers who have not completed the e-KYC process will not be given the benefit of subsidy. Through this process, the government is ensuring that only eligible consumers can get the benefit of subsidy and the government's financial burden can be reduced.
How to check subsidy status?
If you want to know whether you are getting LPG subsidy or not, you can check it by visiting the official website of your gas company. For this, you have to enter your LPG ID and mobile number. After this, login through an OTP (one-time password), the current status of your subsidy will be revealed. Apart from this, you can also check from your bank account whether the subsidy amount has been deposited in your account or not.
The main objective
of the government behind this step is that the subsidy should reach only those people who really need it. Earlier, everyone used to get the benefit of subsidy equally, but now the government is limiting it only to the economically weaker section.
