The country's largest social media platform WhatsApp has banned about 84 lakh accounts in the country. WhatsApp's parent company Meta has taken this action in just one month. Many users had informed WhatsApp about such scams and complained about it on its platform.

In the transparency report released by the company, it was told that Meta has banned about 8,458,000 WhatsApp accounts for the safety of the users. The company's report shows that Meta banned all these accounts between 1 and 31 August. Out of this, 16.61 lakh accounts were closed immediately, while the rest were banned after being found suspicious after investigation. The company closed more than 16 lakh accounts without any complaint from the user because their misuse came to the fore during monitoring.

The company received more than 10 thousand complaints
