WhatsApp, India's most popular text, voice, and video calling platform, is testing a new feature that allows users to quickly send call links in group and individual chats. This is similar to how video conferencing platforms like Google Meet and Zoom allow users to click on the link and hit the 'Join' button to connect with another person.
Although this instant messaging app owned by Meta already has this feature, it is not easy to use. For this, users have to go through a long process by going to the 'Calls' tab, finding the option named 'Create call link' and selecting the 'Call type' by tapping on the '+' button.
How to create video and voice call links on WhatsApp?
- To share call links on WhatsApp, open the group or individual chat you want to send the call link to.
- Now, click on the attachment icon from the bottom bar and then tap on “Call Link”.
- Here you will get the option to choose between video or voice call.
- After this, press the green send link button given below and your work will be done.

One thing to note here is that when you send a call link to someone, both of you will have to press the “Join Call” button to start the call. The same applies to group calls as well. The new call link button in the attachment menu could make this feature even more popular among users as it is now more easily accessible and doesn’t go too deep into the app.
Available only for these users so far
This feature is available on WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.21.29 . Right now only a few select beta testers can use this button and it will roll out to more users in the coming days. But since this feature is already available to everyone, its functionality works normally.
WhatsApp Chat Themes feature also launched
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has recently launched a new feature called Chat Themes. This new feature aims to enhance the chatting experience of users by giving them the ability to customize their chat interface with different themes. Apart from this, this new feature also promises to give a fresh look to WhatsApp chats and offer a more personalized experience to users. WhatsApp Chat Themes feature has started rolling out gradually to customers worldwide.
