In such a situation, Uttarakhand Police, in collaboration with the Home Ministry, has busted the international cyber fraud racket. Here SIM card fraud was being done and till now the scammers have done a scam of one crore rupees.
20 thousand SIM cards recovered
Talking about the case, so far information about 20 thousand SIM cards has been extracted from the accused, which were given to scammers from India, China, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and Malaysia. These hackers give them Indian SIM cards. The police have busted this gang. So far, 1,816 SIM cards, two check books, five mobile phones, and two biometric devices have been recovered from the accused.
How did you use the SIM card?
If we talk about the use of SIM card, there were different methods for it. People were approached and given false allurements. For which it was said that a government scheme was running. They would have to provide ID, after which a SIM card would be issued in their name. Then, using these SIM cards, fraudsters would fool people and take information about their bank details.
Reference was made to free ration card
Along with this, the accused also started citing free ration card for scamming. In the name of ration card, people gave them information about IT and biometrics. With its help, fraudsters continued to cheat them and these cases are continuously increasing.
