Which allows users to share status updates in a new, interactive way and mention their friend, let's know about it-
Similar to Instagram Stories: WhatsApp users will soon have the option to mention contacts in their status updates, mirroring the functionality found in Instagram Stories.
Beta testing: The feature is currently available to a select group of testers using the latest WhatsApp beta version 2.24.20.3 on Android, as reported by WABetaInfo, a reliable source for WhatsApp updates.
How it works:
Users will get the option to mention in the caption bar while creating a status update.
Tapping this option will display a list of contacts from which users can choose to mention.
The name of the mentioned contact will appear below the status update.
Notifications: When a user is mentioned in a status, they will receive a notification, similar to how Instagram works.
