CHENNAI Chennai: Centre's chief economic adviser V. Anantha Nageswaran has said banks must adapt to changing customer preferences and market dynamics to remain competitive.He highlighted the crucial role of agriculture in driving economic growth at an event organised by public sector Indian Bank on Saturday.In his address on 'Indian Economy and Banking: Developments and Trends', Nageswaran stressed the importance of technological advancements in fuelling growth and innovation in the industry.
In a press release issued by the bank, the CEA emphasised the need for banks to adapt to changing customer preferences and market dynamics in order to remain competitive. He commended Indian Bank for investing in knowledge sharing and excellence and praised its initiatives under the MSME Prerana programme which aims to train entrepreneurs. In his address, S L Jain, Managing Director and CEO, Indian Bank said, “We are delighted to have Dr Nageswaran share his insights on the Indian economy and its impacts on the banking sector.” He added that this interaction will undoubtedly benefit all participants and help them better understand the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
