HYDERABAD: The State Bank of India (SBI) Foundation has launched the third edition of its Asha Scholarship Programme as part of which 10,000 meritorious students belonging to underprivileged backgrounds from across the country will receive financial support.
Students from Class 6 to the postgraduate level can avail of the scholarships ranging from Rs.15,000 to Rs.20,00,000 in a year.
The Asha Scholarship Program offers specialised categories for school students, undergraduates, postgraduates, and those enrolled in IITs and IIMs. Students belonging to the SC and ST categories intending to move outside the country for higher studies can avail of the benefits of the ‘Study Abroad’ scheme, a press release issued by the SBI Foundation said.
The application forms for the scholarship will be accepted between August 16, 2024 and October 1, 2024.

Founded in 2022, Asha Scholarship Programme has provided financial support of Rs.3.91 crore to 3,198 students, the release said.
“We are proud to be expanding this transformative initiative to 10,000 students this year. Asha Scholars will play an important role in achieving our Nation’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” The release quoted SBI Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty as saying.
