PM Jan Dhan Yojana has completed 10 years. In 2014, this scheme was started by PM Narendra Modi to connect every section of the country to the banking system, so that the benefits of government schemes reach the people directly. This account opened under PM Jan Dhan Yojana is a Zero Balance Account, that is, there is no need to maintain a minimum balance in it. But do you know that like Jan Dhan's account, there are other zero-balance accounts, which can be opened in many banks including SBI? If you also want to open such an account so that you can get rid of the hassle of keeping a minimum balance in the bank, then know about SBI's zero balance account here. It is called Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account (BSBDA). In common language, people call it a zero balance account. Know its features here
Who can open this account?
Any person who fulfils the KYC conditions can open this zero balance account. If you have documents like an Aadhar card and PAN card, then you can easily open them. The facility of opening a joint account is also given in a zero balance account. In this, all the account holders have to submit their documents.
These are the 5 big benefits
Penalty has to be paid for not maintaining a minimum balance on other bank accounts, but in this account, you will not have to pay any kind of penalty. This is its biggest feature.

In this, the account holder is given the facility of a bank passbook, basic Rupee ATM-cum-debit card, and mobile and internet banking. However, a free chequebook is not given.
On opening a zero balance account, you can withdraw and transfer money with the help of an Aadhar card like a normal savings account, along with this, the facility of withdrawing or transferring money with the help of the UPI app is also included in it.
There is no charge for cash transactions through electronic channels like NEFT / RTGS. Also, if you activate a closed account, then you do not have to pay any charge for that too. On the other hand, if you close your zero balance account, then there is no charge for this either.
It is also important to know this condition
You can open a zero balance account in the bank only if you do not have any other savings account in that bank. According to the official website of the bank, if you already have a savings account and you have also opened a zero balance savings account, then the earlier account will have to be closed within 30 days. Zero balance savings account holders can withdraw 4 times a month from the ATM or branch channel of the bank or other bank for free.
