Mumbai: A man has been detained after his wife's partially decomposed body was found stuffed in a gunny bag in Trombay area, police said.
According to police, relatives of the husband have also been detained.
Police have identified the deceased woman and detained her husband and his family members for questioning after booking them on the charge of murder under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), a release stated.
Police are investigating to ascertain the motive behind the murder, officials said.
Earlier, a 30-year-old man’s body was found at Royal Palm in the Aarey area on the evening of August 21.
The police said that it had registered an accidental death report and sent the body to Trauma Hospital, Jogeshwari East.
According to the police, there were no visible marks or injuries, and they are awaiting the forensic report to determine the exact cause of death. The deceased, a private financial professional from Mira Road, had no signs of foul play, and the body has been handed over to his family. As per sources, the victim was an alcoholic and had accumulated debts.
