New Delhi: A tragic incident occurred in Khammam, Telangana, where a 40-year-old man, Donepudi Mahesh Babu, died due to electrocution on Sunday evening. The accident happened while he was preparing to bathe his pet dog. Babu took out an electric heater to heat water but was distracted by a phone call. Amid the conversation, he mistakenly placed the heater rod under his arm instead of immersing it in the water.
Unaware of the danger, he turned on the heater, which led to a severe electric shock. The shock caused him to collapse. His wife, Durga Devi, immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital, but despite their efforts, Babu was declared brought dead by the doctors.
In a separate incident, a villager in Jabalpur was severely injured by exposed electrical wires and had to be transported to the hospital on a makeshift stretcher called a ‘Khatiya’ due to the lack of available ambulances. The tragic event occurred on Monday in Birhula village, under the Salivada Gram Panchayat of Shahpura Tehsil.
The victim, Machal Singh Gond, was electrocuted while repairing electrical wires near his home. With no ambulance available, villagers carried him on foot through narrow pathways to seek medical assistance.
Despite their efforts to get him to Shahpura’s government hospital and then to the Medical College Hospital, Gond was declared dead on arrival. The poor road conditions further hindered the timely arrival of medical care.
