Pune: A man and his friend here allegedly threw the body of a woman into the Indrayani River and also tossed her two children into it when they started crying. The duo have been arrested. Police said the 25-year-old woman died during an abortion for which his lover and main accused Gajendra Dagadkhaire had sent.
She went to Thane near Mumbai for an abortion, a Pimpri Chinchwad police station official said, quoted PTI. "On the way back on July 9, Dagadkhaire and his associate Ravikant Gaikwad threw the woman's body into the Indrayani River near Talegaon," the official further added. He said the children, aged two and five, started crying, and the two men then pushed them into the river as well. The official said the deceased woman was estranged from her husband and was in a relationship with Dagadkhaire, She got pregnant and went for an abortion, the report stated.
The matter came to notice after the woman's mother filed a missing person complaint leading to a probe and the arrest of Dagadkhaire and Gaikwad based on technical evidence.'The bodies of the woman and the two children have not been found as vet, Dagadkhaire and Gaikwagwere remanded in police custody till July 30. Further probe into the case is underway," the official further said.
