New Delhi: FM Nirmala Sitharaman has made a major announcement - free electricity for one crore households up to 300 units.
This announcement has been made because the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana guaranteeing free electricity has been put to work.
Free Electricity up to 300 Units for 1 Cr Households
On the free solar electricity scheme, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman says, "PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana has been launched to install rooftop solar panels to enable 1 crore households to obtain free electricity up to 300 units each month. This scheme will further encourage it."
In another news, "Power projects, including setting up of a new 2400 megawatt power plant at Pirpainti, will be taken up for Rs 21400 crore," FM added.
The Finance Minister is presenting the first Union Budget of the Modi 3.0 government and her seventh consecutive one during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. The budget session of Parliament began on July 22 and, according to schedule, will end on August 12.
