Aadhaar card is the most important document for the countrymen, which is used for various government and non-government works, such as SIM card, college admission, and other works, but friends, the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made an important change regarding Aadhaar card. Till now Aadhaar card was accepted as proof of date of birth.
In its circular issued on January 16, EPFO said that now Aadhaar data will not work as proof of date of birth. Aadhaar should not be used as a document to verify the date of birth.
UIDAI had earlier issued a circular on December 22, 2023, in which the Aadhaar card was removed from the list of documents to be accepted as proof of date of birth.
UIDAI also clarified that the date of birth recorded in Aadhaar is based on the documents provided by the resident during the enrolment or update process. These documents are listed on the UIDAI website and form the basis for establishing the claimed date of birth.
