SBI: State Bank of India, the country's largest government bank, has given good news to farmers by setting up special centres for fast sanctioning of agricultural loans. At present 35 special centers have been opened under the name of Agriculture Centralized Processing Cells for agricultural loans. Sources of the bank said that there are possibilities of increasing these earlier. It is noteworthy that SBI, which operates retail assets central processing centres for sanctioning other loans like home loans, is now bringing special centres for agricultural loans as well. Also, more new facilities have been made available in bank apps to make digital banking services more accessible.
On the occasion of 69th Foundation Day, the State Bank of India has launched a total of 11 new programs including special centres for sanctioning agricultural loans. As part of that, Beam has introduced Top&Pay in the SBI Pay app to expand digital payments. It also said that it will provide digital loans on mutual funds on the Yono app. On the other hand, the Central Government has brought the Surya Ghar Loan Scheme to grant loans under the recently announced Surya Ghar Scheme. Necessary loans will be given for setting up a solar power system with a capacity of 10 kilowatts. It is said that the loan will be completely digital from application to sanction.
State Bank has opened its second Global NRI Center at Patiya, Punjab for NRI customers. Bank branches in high courts will be redesigned to provide more services to lawyers, it said. State Bank has said that it is making the process of granting home loans more transparent. It said that steps are being taken to inform the borrowers through SMS and mail from time to time about the stages of the home loan application process.
