There are many news coming on social media that if the Aadhaar card has not been updated for 10 years then it will stop working after June 14.
UIDAI has taken cognizance of this news which is going viral and has clarified. The institute making Aadhaar cards has said that nothing like this will happen. Even if an Aadhaar card is not updated for 10 years, it will continue to work.
In the statement issued by UIDAI i.e. Unique Identification Authority of India, it has been said that updating an Aadhaar card is very easy.
If you have not updated Aadhaar for the last 10 years, then you can update it without paying any fee by visiting the UIDAI website.
This facility is available to you only on the UIDAI portal. If you go to the Aadhar center to update your Aadhar card, you will have to pay Rs 50 as a fee.

Unique Identification Authority of India has set a deadline of June 14 to update Aadhaar for free. If you update your Aadhar card after June 14th. So you may have to pay a fee.
Ignore this viral news claiming that your Aadar card is invalid. Your old Aadhar card will work the same as before.
Online Aadhaar Update Process
* Visit the Self-Service Update Portal of UIDAI. https://ssup. uidai. gov. in/up/
* Click on ‘Login’ and enter your unique 12-digit Aadhaar number and the given captcha code.
* Then click on ‘Send OTP’ and enter the OTP sent on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
* Now select ‘Update Aadhaar Online’ under the Services tab.
* Now click on ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’ and select the details you want to change.
* Your existing name on Aadhar card will appear on your screen.
* You can make any changes you want by uploading the documents.
* Confirm the changes made. Your information will be updated.
