Latest News :- State Bank of India (SBI) has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court saying that complete information about electoral bonds has been provided to the Election Commission. While donors to political parties were giving through electoral bonds, State Bank of India had directed that complete details of the same should be provided to the Election Commission and the Election Commission should publish those details.
Accordingly, the Election Commission released the details provided by State Bank of India. However, after finding that it contained inadequate details, the Supreme Court had directed State Bank of India to provide complete information to the Election Commission. After this, the affidavit filed by the State Bank of India in the Supreme Court said, “The Election Commission of India has been informed about the complete details of the parties who purchased electoral bonds and deposited them in their bank accounts.
All details like names of people purchasing the bonds, their value, number of bonds, names of parties encashing the bonds, last four digits of bank account numbers of political parties and their values. Shared by the Election Commission for publication. For security reasons, full bank account numbers and customer details are not shared. Also, they are not required to identify political parties.
