New Delhi. State Bank of India today handed over all the information related to the electoral bond including its serial number to the Election Commission. In this regard, as per the order of the Supreme Court, an affidavit has also been filed by the SBI Chairman in which it is written that all the details related to the electoral bonds have been handed over to the Election Commission by the bank, nothing is left. In the affidavit filed by the SBI Chairman, it has been said that the court's order of March 18 in the electoral bond case has been followed. Complete information about all the electoral bonds purchased and encashed has been made available to the Election Commission. The numbers of all the bonds have also been mentioned.

It is noteworthy that on February 15, the five-member Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court had given a historic verdict and canceled the Electoral Bond Scheme, terming it unconstitutional. Along with this, orders were given to disclose the donors of election donations, the amount given as donations and the recipients. After this, the Supreme Court bench, in its March 11 decision, had directed SBI to give complete details of the bond. However, SBI gave information only about those who bought and encashed the bonds. It was not disclosed how much donation was given by which donor to which political party. After this, on March 16, the court issued a notice reprimanding State Bank of India and sought its reply by March 18. In the hearing on March 18, the Supreme Court had once again strongly reprimanded the bank and ordered it to provide all the information including alphanumeric number and serial number, date of purchase and amount of each bond. For this, the deadline was given till 21st March i.e. 5 pm today.
